ADD is OK

Welcome back!

We all have days when we feel bad about ourselves for one reason or another. Guess you noticed I had one yesterday. :)

But there are a lot of reasons to feel good about who we are – ADD and all. ADD is OK.

Here’s why:

You are in very good company. A good portion of Hollywood, the NHL, and the people you read about in history books have/had Attention Deficit Disorder.
You are a dreamer. Dreaming is OK; it’s good. Without dreamers, we wouldn’t have airplanes, rocket ships, or cell phones. If you’re a dreamer and a do-er, that’s great. If not, find yourself a do-er and go to town!
You have a brilliant and creative mind that sees connections where others do not. That can lead to new discoveries, and that’s a good thing.
You have a playful and childlike side that still sees the wonder in the ordinary and the fantastic in the everyday. Keep it up.
You’ve got energy and ideas in abundance. Keep the flow going. It’s OK to abandon one project in search of a newer, more exciting one at times. Who knows what you’ll come up with?

Having ADD is OK. It’s who you are, and it’s who I am too. Nobody made a mistake when they made us.

“Figure out who you are, and then do it on purpose.” Dolly Parton
