That Mess on Your Refrigerator

by Brenda on July 29, 2010

Come on now, you know what I’m talking about:

If yours is like most other families, you have all sorts of papers, pictures, and clippings stuck to your refrigerator door.

And once school starts, you will have so many papers on that door that you won’t be able to find the refrigerator, not to mention the permission slip that was due yesterday.

Springpad

by Brenda on July 27, 2010

I am always looking for new and easy ways to keep my life and yours running more smoothly. One of the new things that I’ve tried is Springpad and I love it.

Springpad is a free service that lets you save almost anything – a url, a note, bookmarks, an event, a reminder, almost anything.

I like it because I can use it when I’m on my laptop or my iPod. Springpad is compatible with lots of mobile devices, too, so it may work with your cell phone.

Simple Organization

by Brenda on July 19, 2010

As ADDers, we all seem to have dreams of being organized one day. We imagine a perfect space worthy of Martha Stewart:

But guess what?

We’re not Martha. No one is.

We don’t have her millions, her houses, or her staff.

For us, simple organization is enough.

Simple organization: being able to find what you need when you need it.

Are You Making Your To Do List Too Hard?

by Brenda on June 30, 2010

Rachel at Small Notebook wrote an excellent post yesterday titled “Are You Making Your To Do List Too Hard? Find Out Why”.

Rachel talks about how she tends to see the big picture, with all of the tasks associated with it, while her husband can focus on just the task at hand.

I particularly love the following quote because I think it sums up our ADHD brains quite well.

Clutter and ADHD

by Brenda on June 25, 2010

One of the biggest challenges for ADD Moms is keeping the house in order. And one of the biggest challenges in keeping the house in order is clutter.

I’ve got 3 simple rules for keeping the clutter monster in check:

1. It is not your job, as mom, to handle all of the clutter in the house. Even 2 year olds can and should be taught to help pick up their toys and put them away. The same goes for 42 year old dads.
