The Self Care Checklist - How Do You Rate?

by Brenda on July 29, 2012

Part of taking care of and managing your ADHD is to take good care of yourself. You can’t possibly expect to manage your symptoms and function in life if you’re sleep deprived and living on junk food.

The University of Michigan has a checklist that I think covers the areas that we all should be addressing for ourselves.

Some things I might add to that list are taking care of your appearance - getting your hair cut or colored, getting a manicure or pedicure - or just doing it yourself, wearing clothes that fit you and make you feel good about yourself, finding ways to maximize your strong points.

As moms we often put ourselves last, and with our busy lives, that means we give ourselves little to no attention at all. Keep in mind that while you are sacrificing your needs for others, you are also teaching your daughters that as women they are second best and teaching your sons that women should sacrifice for them and their families.

Wouldn’t you rather present yourself to your family (and the world) as a woman who values and respects herself?

Take a look at that checklist and see how you rate.

And while you’re there, you might also want to check out the article on Positive Self Talk. Look on the left sidebar for that.

I have been surfing online more than three hours lately, but I by no means discovered any attention-grabbing article like yours. It¡¦s lovely price enough for me. In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net can be a lot more helpful than ever before.
