Today I got stuck in the need to do laundry trap. You know - when everything you own (including that stuff) is dirty? So you’ve literally got nothing to wear until you do the wash.

I had to stay in my pajamas (such a hardship) until my clothes were washed and dried.

There is an easy way to prevent this; actually two.

The first is to have regular days to do the laundry. The trick here is to actually do it when you’re supposed to.

The other way is to have an idea of how often you need to do laundry. That means doing odd things like counting your socks and underwear.

If you own nine pairs of socks, but only six pairs of underwear, doing the laundry once a week won’t cut it.

Some people try to solve this problem by buying more. That doesn’t solve the problem; it just postpones it.

You need to do this same kind of thing with towels, too. My washer holds about 10-12 towels, depending on how big they are.

Four people a day taking a shower means I need to do a load at least every other day.

This might seem like an odd concept to you, and for people without ADHD, I’m sure it’s the strangest thing they’ve ever heard.

But if it means you never have to worry about running out of clean socks or underwear, I’d say it’s worth it. Wouldn’t you?
